Where Does Your Most Profitable Customer Come From?

Posted by Christine Burke on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, In : Marketing

In addition to tracking your cost per acquisition (this is your cost spent to get a new customer) you should also know where your most profitable customer comes from. This includes walk-ins to your store, if you have a physical location, and "click-bys" if you have an online presence.

I was surprised by the information I recently received from Shaw Academy regarding Facebook and Pinterest. Most people would think that Facebook brings the most profit but according to Shaw, it is actually Pinter...

Did You Miss Out On 1,228,500,000 Customers in 2015?

Posted by Christine Burke on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, In : Insight

If you are not selling online, you probably did! According to Shaw Academy, in 2015 there were 1,228,500,000 online buyers. How many of those did you capture?

The future of sales and customer engagement is ONLINE. It will come through your website, and social media sites such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, Periscope, Twitter and other such services. These will be accessed by computer, but more and more it will be by the mobile device.

Do you have an online presence? If not...

Great Solution For Quick And Inexpensive Shipping

Posted by Christine Burke on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, In : General
I had this on Periscope and Twitter today (@OMGChristineB) while I was at the US Post Office. They have great overnight and two-day shipping with envelopes and boxes which are flat rate.

I love recommending these to clients as the small box is only $6.80 (used to be like $5) and you can put whatever you want into these boxes and not worry about weight. They also have two great medium sizes (the heights and widths vary) for around $13. Can't beat it!

Don't Make Nice, Make MONEY!

Posted by Christine Burke on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, In : Insight

I was just having lunch with a fellow female entrepreneur. We were discussing the differences between men and women in business. We talked about the "Good Old Boys" club and the ways that men do battle in business and can remain friends and the way that they network - usually through sports or the golf course.

It seems more often than not, and others have tended to agree, that women are not able to play nice together and support each other or refer each other, like men do. Too, in business, wo...

Mix It Thoroughly For Best Results!

Posted by Christine Burke on Monday, January 18, 2016, In : Implementation

Have you ever gone to eat something or drink something and it tastes funny or the texture is off? You go, "Ick" or "eeew", and then you look at the label and you were supposed to shake it or mix it well. Your marketing plan requires a mixture too, for your sales and profitability to be successful and for you to reach your goals.

Frequently I am in an Insight session with a client and I ask, "Are you doing X, Y, Z, W..." and so on and they look at me with either shock, frustration or a "really?...

What Is The Value Of Your Time?

Posted by Christine Burke on Monday, January 18, 2016, In : Accountability

As a business owner, and heck just as a regular person or parent, your time is very limited. In working in your business you should be concerned with a work life balance and pay attention to it. Also, it is important to charge what you are worth (that's a whole 'nother class).

As your Outsourced Marketing Guru, one of my services is accountability (keeping you accountable to yourself and others) and motivation (giving you that boost to focus). There is a great book called The Four Agreements b...

Shut Yer Yap! Your Success Speaks For Itself

Posted by Christine Burke on Saturday, January 16, 2016, In : Insight

Have you ever had a time when it seemed that all there was were people saying negative things about you, your business or your success?

This morning I was listening to a sermon by Bishop T.D. Jakes. Now, I'm more spiritual than religious but I find Bishop Jakes has a wonderful outlook on life and the people around us. He said something to the effect of, "When I heard the dogs barking, I knew where the treasure was." I loved this when I heard it and like most dogs, when something gets their at...

Don't Forget The Little Things - Handy Note Tool

Posted by Christine Burke on Saturday, January 16, 2016, In : Implementation

If you are like me, you spend considerable time in your car on the road. Hopefully you will not be talking on the phone without a headset, or texting, but instead going over all of those things that you need to do. This happens to me and it's usually on the way to an appointment and Voila! I come up with a great idea or strategy or else something that I had already forgotten once, pops into my head.

A few years ago, I had sticky notes in my car so that I could write dates and times on my pape...

Do You Have The Support You Require?

Posted by Christine Burke on Friday, January 15, 2016, In : Insight

Just being a regular 'ole person is tough enough but being a business owner too can sometimes bankrupt you - not only monetarily, but physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. While we were working on our vision boards yesterday with Judy, we talked about what we were seeking in the next few months as well as what we were trying to avoid. One of those things was support and positivity (to get) and negativity (to stop and avoid).

In the chart above, Judy described the support needed f...

Do You Have a Vision For Yourself and Your Business in 2016?

Posted by Christine Burke on Friday, January 15, 2016, In : Accountability

We had a fun time yesterday working with Judy Richter, LMT of Pure Light Therapies as we got together with other business owners to work on our vision boards for the next few months. Judy gave us the "Bagua Map" which is drawn above and is supposed to also represent your office and/or your house.

The "map" is comprised of 9 quadrants and you should fill you board with images and sayings that will help you focus on your goals in that particular area. From the top left and across, then zig zag d...

Have You Thought About Closing Your Business?

Posted by Christine Burke on Friday, January 15, 2016, In : Insight

I was recently talking with a former entrepreneur (yes, I said former) and the subject of closed businesses came up. She mentioned that prior to becoming a business owner, and when working a J.O.B., she used to think badly when she heard that someone closed a business.

Not anymore, she says, after she took a run at operating her own business for three years. As a "solopreneur" she realized that there were challenges that she CHOSE not to accept and closed her business and went in another dire...

Plan Ahead For Continuing Education 2016

Posted by Christine Burke on Friday, January 15, 2016, In : Education

Fellow Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners, we are excited for the new year and more than likely dreading the "clean up" from 2015 and getting our paperwork done for accounting or taxes ahead.

One thing that might have caught me off guard was having enough Continuing Education or CE credits for 2015. If you, like me, have a license associated with your business, you may need quarterly, or annual CE credits.

Like most new year resolutions, I always start off with great intentions to get one...
